"My Entrepreneurship Story"

I learned about entrepreneurship as an adolescent. My father, at the time was working for Thoroughbred Music as the manager of the production division. However, Sam Ash Music purchased the company and his division was left with an uncertain future. Therefore, as an entrepreneur he decided to buy the production division and being a new career. He endured a lot while creating Total Production Services.  However, he pursued his dream. The time and effort he put into his company was very obvious. Hours and hours were spent at home working. Nights and weekends were spent in the office or at the event. I was afforded the opportunity to work at the company and witnessed his ability as the president of the company in person. He performed the most basic functions of the business to the most complicated functions. He loaded trucks, he did the finances, he did it all. Total Production Services was successful up until his passing.

I enrolled into ENT3003 because I need to fill an elective. I am majoring in Sport Management and minoring in Business Administration, therefore, I decided that understanding the principles of entrepreneurship would go hand and hand with my education pursuit.

  2. Kyle, your story is really awesome. As a person who is involved in a lot of music, I liked the picture you included as well. Your father sounds like he had some incredible accomplishments and should be proud of the work he did creating and running a successful business from the ground up. Today, that is far from an easy thing to do. As for being in ENT3003, that's awesome that your major is sports management. Being interested in all sports, I thought I may go that route but ended up in full business instead. I hope you're enjoying it and this class so far!

  3. Hey Kyle! I have the utmost respect for your father for taking control of a bad situation and committing to his goal. My father runs his own business too, and growing up around someone who was so committed to making his entrepreneurial goals come true taught me a lot about hard work and perseverance. It sounds like your father taught you those same things and that is a great gift. Hopefully this class helps you sharpen those skills even more!

  4. Kyle, I think it is so cool that you have had such a close experience with entrepreneurship. Many people do not get to see what actually goes into being an entrepreneur so I believe that was a unique experience for you. Also, I definitely see how this class could help you in your future career of sports management. I hope I can have the same experience that you did one day.
