Proview

Proview- view of a professional.

I created the word "proview" for this assignment. During my trails no really one liked the word and actually thought I was be using it in a sarcastic manner most of the time.  For the most part I haven't heard anyone  implemented it to their vocabulary. Additionally, after using the word and describing the meaning my family in general made fun of me and laughed. But, they understood the concept of the word and why I created it. Sometimes it turned into a conversation with my friends and family creating words of their own. I did learn that creating this word did not catch on in my circle, however, it did create conversation.

Halfway Reflection

The Principles of Entrepreneurship class is an interesting course. This course doesn’t follow the typical path of a college course. The lectures, assignments, and tasks are very different than anything you have experienced.
In order to be successful in this course you have to be relentless with the assignments. There are a lot of assignments throughout the semester and you have to stay focused.
During the semester I felt like giving up and pushing assignments to the side. However, I am focused on getting my degree and pursuing my goals. Therefore, I decided that this class would not stop me. Moreover, I would not say that this class developed my tenacity, but I will say this class made me use it.
Three tips for surviving this class: (1) Have an outlet (2) be relentless (3) stay focused.

Reading Reflection No. 1

·       The most surprising thing is that the Wright brothers were always close and worked well together. Furthermore, while Orville was sick with typhoid, Wilbur would read to his brother about the German glider enthusiast Otto Lilienthal. By reading at his brother bedside it sparked the quest to fly.

·    What I admire most about the Wright family. The Wright brothers were very close with their family. Their parents instilled many qualities in their children. They insprired education into their children. Everyone in the house read all the time. The father would even allow them to miss school to read or for some project he deemed worthy. Moreover, throughout the years, the Wright brothers consistently stayed in contact with their father and sister.

·    The thing I least admire is that both of the brothers did not pursue a college education. Education was always a priority, however neither further pursued it.  I thought that Wilbur would pursue his education because there was once talk of Yale. In addition, after some time as a businessman Wilbur decided he wanted to become a teacher. He then decided to pursue his college degree. However, the Wright brothers bike business picked back up and Wilbur derailed from his education.

·    The Wright brothers faced adversity just as everyone else does in life. For example, while trying to create their flying machine there were many failures. The brothers fought through their failures by working tirelessly, reading, experimenting and testing their flying machines. The brothers never wavered from their pursuit of flying.

·    While reading the book I noticed that Wilbur was never rattled. Even though Wilbur or Orville did not have a college degree they continuously educated themselves. Wilbur had a way with words and loved literature. Orville was a natural entrepreneur.  While still in high school Orville began his own print shop behind his house. And of course he had the help of Wilbur. Moreover, Orville was mechanical ingenuity. Nevertheless, both of the Wright brothers had a drive, a purpose and unyielding determination.

·    In this book I didn’t find anything too confusing. However, in the beginning of the book I was a little confused of the older siblings, Reuchlin and Lorin. They were mentioned, yet, it did not register who they were. I had to go back to realize they were apart of the family.

·    If I had the opportunity to ask the Wright brothers’ two questions I think I would ask – What was it like to work together as brothers? Having a brother myself I understand wanting to work with your brother. I would ask them because it had to be difficult at times. Next, I would ask why were they so fascinating about creating something? I would ask this because they were very determined to create. The started with the print shop, then the bike shop and of course the flying machine. I would want to know what was their driving force. Was it each other pushing one another?

·    I believe that the Wright brothers’ idea of hard work is resilience.  Their constant pursuit of creating was inevitable. Their work ethic was second to none. I do share this idea of hard work. I have like most people overcome difficulty and continue to pursue my goals just as the Wright brothers did.

Idea Napkin No. 1

1.    I am Kyle Matson. I am a Navy veteran. I served 4 years with Helicopter Squadron Nine and completed 1 deployment on the USS George H. W Bush. My skills include hardworking, resilient and adventurous. My aspirations are to live an eventful life, be a good husband to my wife, and be a great father to my two boys. If I were to pursue this business proposal I believe it would play a role in my life. I believe that work is apart of person.

2.    There is a communication problem within the online classroom. Online students are not able to communicate with one another like an on-campus student can. I am offering a solution to this problem by creating an application for phones, tablets, and computers that allow online students to communicate with each other.

3.    The target consumers are the universities and the online students.

4.    The universities that offer this form of communication have a step on their competition. Also, students that want to communicate within their courses this application would allow for students to study groups, note sharing, and class discussions.

5.    As an online student the one consistent issue I face is communication within my class. Currently, the universities professors rely on email for communicating with the students. The students have discussion boards within the classroom however, the majority of students study and prepare for exams on their own. This application provides better communication for the classroom experience.

6.    I believe that the concept I provide appropriate fit the targeted consumer and both parties would be better off after a transaction.
